About Wood and Weld

Artist Christopher Perry was raised in Springville, Utah. His father and grandfather were both award winning custom home builders. For them, the common standard wasn’t good enough. If code required a 4” driveway, they would pour 6” of concrete. It was more important to them to make a home last than to make a few extra dollars. It was from these men that Christopher received an education in integrity, quality, and craftsmanship.

Originally working in the tech industry, Christopher was successful but unsatisfied. He felt the call to create in a more visceral and tangible way than his work then afforded him. He picked up the tools of his youth, and built a wood and steel coffee table. That was the spark that blew into the flame of Wood and Weld. In 2014, he left his job and founded Wood and Weld Furniture.

An explorer at heart, Artist Teagan Perry grew up all over America. Her boundless enthusiasm and fearless brainstorming have been wonderful assets to Wood and Weld since she joined in 2019. She designs and builds alongside Christopher. She is also the finish and patina specialist of the team.

“I want to beautify the world. If I could work at the city-scale I would. But that requires a team and bureaucracy and many other things not congenial to my artistic process. So I take the bite I can take. I wake up each day and try and do it one piece at a time. I especially enjoy helping a client refine their vision for their space and designing something accordingly.

To build beautiful objects that enrich and bring coherence to a home is my highest aim.

I believe in my designs. I believe in my work. And I labor to ensure each piece retains the integrity of the spirit which gave it rise.

In 2019, my wife Teagan joined the team. She has been my secret weapon and greatest muse ever since.”
